Every big day starts with an engagement ring and a very important question. After that, the couple begins setting the tone with their ‘Save the Dates’ and invitations. The Francis couple sent out simple and elegant invitations that highlight the natural beauty of the Chesapeake Bay. Mixing soft, beachy blues with sunset pastels added natural beauty and laid-back vibes to their wedding stationery.
Before putting on the most important dress of her life, the bride carefully hung her beautiful floral gown on a custom dress hanger. The hanger reads ‘Mrs. Francis’ with the date of the wedding. Not only does this hanger add a beautiful element of surprise to the wedding photography, but it is sure to be an heirloom passed through the Francis family for generations to come.
The Francis wedding had no shortage of ‘something blue.’ The groom was dressed in a well-tailored blue tuxedo with a lively silk inner lining. To add a touch of personalization, the couple opted for custom embroidery of their initials and wedding date on the inside of the jacket. Stylist and customizable suits like this one can be found online.
Standing alongside the bride on the big day were three of her closest ladies all dressed in blue. As many brides ditch monochrome bridesmaids’ dresses for a beautiful gradient, the Francis wedding perfectly showcased how beautiful different shades of blue can be. To maintain a balance of other beautiful beach-inspired earth tones, the bride and bridesmaids carried custom bouquets with shades of pink, white, yellow, and earthy greens.
Catering for the Francis wedding was provided by the Smokehouse Grill: the leading provider of upscale and BBQ wedding catering in the Chesapeake area. A menu of fresh, locally-sourced ingredients was served to guests in a fun and casual environment. Additionally, the Francis couple chose to take advantage of the Smokehouse Grill’s bar services for the event, bringing simple and affordable drink options to guests throughout the night.
Born in Baltimore, Mandi from Chesapeake Charm Photography is inspired by the beautiful sights of the Chesapeake Bay and the love that it inspires. Mandi approached the Francis wedding with an open heart and plenty of creativity, enabling her to capture beautiful, intimate moments shared on this special day. In addition to wedding photography, Chesapeake Charm Photography offers complimentary engagement shoots, portraits, and so much more to help you savor the moment.
Outdoor ceremonies are perfect for weddings that pull decorative inspiration from nature. To serve as the perfect backdrop for the ceremony, the Francis couple chose this custom-made macrame wedding arch adorned with flowers and natural driftwood for an effortless boho-chic feel.
To direct their guests to their respective seats at the outdoor reception, the Francis couple opted for handmade seaglass table assignment cards. Topping off these unique glass pieces with handwritten names and table numbers, the couple was able to add a unique sense of beachy flair to their wedding on a budget.
At the center of each table at the reception, you could find simple and elegant centerpieces composed of candles, lanterns, baby’s breath, and earthy foliage. The table numbers were marked with watercolor placement cards that brought the beautiful blues back into play in the tabletop decor. The rest of the table was adorned with blue napkins and crisp white plates for an effortlessly simple and nautical feel.
Sticking to the laid-back feel of the Francis wedding, this beer canoe is the perfect way to tie in a beach-themed wedding with a practical serving solution. Filled with the guests’ favorite beers, the beer canoe was easily accessible throughout the couple’s fun-filled reception.
